Schools and Educators
Braille House partners with school communities to develop opportunities for accessibility, equity and inclusion. Our services, support those who are blind or have low vision, and also extend to the broader population as we raise awareness and foster inclusion in education environments.
Each year Queensland school students are invited to participate in the Braille Literacy Challenge. This is a braille reading and writing challenge where braille reading students come together to challenge each other in a fun and friendly way. This is also a great opportunity for the students to network with each other and meet other kids experiencing blindness or vision loss. Teachers also benefit from meeting others and sharing ideas.
Braille House offers many services to support educational organisations, including schools. Our multi-award-winning Braille Awareness Shows are very popular with students and teachers alike as they engage sighted children to better understand their blind or low vision peers.
